Have you ever been to your comic book store and while picking up your comics, you realize one thing: NO ONE ELSE
IS READING THIS COMIC! I've come across that feeling and now I'm going to reveal the comics that few people read.
That's right folk's it is the Hidden Gem Edition of Memory Cards and Superpowers! Let's Begin!
Sentinel
Out of all of the comics that I'll be writing about today, this is the one I cherish the most! The story is about a boy
named Juston Seyfert, who is in the lower part of his school's social structure. One night, he finds a giant robot and must
decide what to with it.

Sentinel is one of the finest comic books that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. |
First off I must say that the dialogue and characterization in this book is brilliant. All of the characters sound as
if they are writing their words when reading. Next, the art in Sentinel is consistently great with brilliant storytelling
techniques. Sadly, this book has been cancelled. A digest collecting the first 6 issues is out now for $8.
Runaways
Runaways is about a group of kids who find out that their parents are truely evil. The kids runaway from their parents
and begin to plot how they are going to stop them. However, their parents' influence extends to law enforcement which leaves
them on their on against their parents.

Runaways is a great comic. Sadly, it faces cancellation. |
Like Sentinel, features some of the best dialogue around. But what seperates the two is one thing:plot. Runaways features
more twists and turns than a roller coaster! Different plots from the secret of The Pride (the evil parents' group) to the
Runaways' encounters themselves, the writer makes it work. With the great writing, comes some great artwork that tells the
story well. Runaways faces cancellation, but still might make it. Like Sentinel, Runaways has a digest Trade Paperback for
around $8 collecting the first six issues.
HERO
HERO is about a device called (what else?) the HERO device. This device gives the user a cape and costume with great
powers. However, the device does not instantly make the user a moral person. HERO does something that most comics don't ever
do:Change the main character every few issues. This means that the person who had the device from the last issue will
have it in the next issue. The people who receive the device themselves range from a middle-school villian to a construction
worker.
HERO features some of the most diverse stories in comics. Along with new characters, the book will use different
tones in the stories. To complement these stories, an occasional art change will occur. When this happens, the art will match
the story perfectly. There are no annoucements if this book faces cancellation, but there is a graphic novel, collecting the
first six issues for around $10.
Conclusion
It's kind of sad to think that two out of three of the comics discussed today have or may be cancelled. Personally, I
think the trades may save these books and may continue in trade paperback form. If these comics continue on that doesn't mean
that I'm going to whine about it. Overall, these are great books, so run to your local comic shop and pick these comics up!
